Industry Experiences

Prior to embarking on a career in academia, I was a seasoned Business Analyst with nine years of experience at BP and a short stint as a contractor at Five9 – Digital Business Solutions, where my commitment to excellence and a solid foundation in business analysis have defined my career.

My expertise as an IT professional involved designing and implementing solutions across various commodity trading markets - with significant experience in back-office functionalities for Endur Gas and Power trading systems. My experience spanned working with technical experts and business stakeholders, managing stakeholder relations, and translating business requirements into valuable IT solutions (IT4IT). My diverse experiences in large-scale IT programs, smaller RAD projects, and agile teams have equipped me with versatile skills.  

Further, since being selected as a  Global Ambassador (GA) for One Young in October 2018, I passionately worked on initiatives for social change using corporate resources. This includes a global project to promote a low-carbon culture in BP offices, focusing on educating staff about reducing individual carbon footprints. 

Some key highlights of my deliverables as a business analyst include:

• Led Endur ETRM system's invoicing and data solutions design and implementation.
• Managed system configurations, functional testing, and agile project oversight using Microsoft TFS.
• Provided technical and security support, improving system efficiency and user experience.
• Contributed strategically to BP's "Inspiring Innovators" Catalyst Project for global STEM initiatives.
• Authored key regulatory and trading system documentation, including Functional Design Decisions (FDDs).
• Executed detailed data and process analyses, leading to significant system enhancements.
• Designed and implemented user security permissions for Endur system, enhancing access control.
• Directed Scrum Sprint cycles, advancing Solarc RightAngle system improvements.
• Identified and documented requirements for e-bonding Salesforce with client ITSM solutions.
• Created discovery documentation, including gap analysis and diagrams for system migration projects.

Beyond my professional life, I stayed committed to community service and mentorship. My involvement as a volunteer teacher with Junior Achievement, as a volunteer soccer coach in Katy TX junior leagues, and as a Lead STEM Engagement Ambassador in Houston, alongside being a volunteer teacher in Kathmandu, Nepal, reflects my belief in education and personal interaction. 

These experiences have enriched my communication and leadership skills, and balanced with family life, have underscored the importance of community contribution and role modeling.
